August 2024 Update: One of my units stopped cooling and Central Heat and Air (to my surprise) was able to have tech over the next day! Nate was very personable, got right to work. He found the problem quickly, fixed it and did a Fall check up on both units before he left. I couldn't be happier! The best part for me -- if I do run into a bigger, more expensive problem down the road, I won't hesitate to call. I feel confident they know their stuff and I would be given reliable recommendations that would be handled professionally and at a very fair price! The Winter Visit: The technician was very thorough and gave me some great tips I hadn't heard before to help me keep my unit working at the best capacity/efficiency. Highly recommend!

Nate came out the other day to perform our regular 6-month service. While here, he found an issue with the condensation line, as well as a failing capacitor. Both were taken care of under our warranty. He really did an excellent job! The repair to the condensation line now has our system running much quieter. Honestly, I was seriously thinking about not renewing our service for the next year. But, after the great work he did, I thought it was a no-brainer... we'll definitely be renewing six months from now. Thanks for the great support!

My experience with Thomas and Justin and Ricky was far more than I have ever experienced with any other A/C Company and then some. Believe me, I have used many different A/C companies over the years. I have never experience the expertise, professionalism and kindness and respectfulness that Justin and Thomas showed me when they came back to do the final installation. They took their time to explain everything they were doing while installing my new A/C unit and how to operate my thermostat properly. Very very professional young men. Awesome dealing with Matt and Central Heat and Air! Finding a solution for our house was a difficult task. Our technician was real communicative about when he'd arrive, and he was very thorough. Within about 10-15 minutes he was pretty sure why our system wasn't working, and fortunately it wasn't going to be an expensive fix. A few minutes later he'd had the problem fully diagnosed and tested. I'm spite of that, he still ran a few more tests just to rule out another potential underlying problem or two. While our tech was working, he gave me a few pieces of advice and made me aware of some mold that was beginning to develop inside my system. He didn't try to sell me a cure or anything, but he taught me what some of my options are before he took off. Couldn't have been more pleased.

Tommy, the technician who came to service by HVAC was truly professional. He called to let me know his arrival time; addressed me appropriately; reviewed what he did to/for my unit when he was finished; and thanked me for my service.

When I realized that the condenser fan on my heat pump wasn't turning, I called Central Heat & Air. An actual person took my call, and arranged for a technician to come out the same day. Terry the technician diagnosed the problem, found and picked up the necessary parts locally, and had our cooling running within a very few hours. This is a very professional and reliable company. I'll definitely call them from now on when there's a problem with my HVAC equipment.

We have used Hiawassee Chase for several years, purchased our unit from them. Then Carter, for several years. The Service has been great. Now with Central, this is the first time. But so far so good. We had a UV light installed in our duct work by Crandall HVAC a while back. They recently came to replace the light. They showed up when expected, replaced the light and finished quickly! Thanks guys!

Our AC unit went out one weekend and I called the office about 8:30 on Monday morning. The repair technician was at our house by 11- fixed the problem and cleaning the AC unit in about 40 minutes. He was fast, efficient, and friendly. Ty did a wonderful job, and we will definitely use Central Heat and Air again!

Central came out to do a maintenance check up on our air conditioners. The service technician did a good job of checking and cleaning both of our units. My wife and I won a contest from Central Heat and Air for a brand new HVAC unit and yesterday they delivered on their promise! On Wednesday Frank Fugent came out to our house and inspected the old unit, discovered what we needed, and advised us on some upgrades that we needed. He then told me that they had the unit in stock and his install team would be there the next day to put in the new unit. Larry, Josh, and Justin arrived at 8:30am to install the new unit and clean the entire ductwork system. They were very professional, cleaned up the mess left over from their work, and left us with a new HVAC system that works great. They were very friendly and cared about our concerns. They went above and beyond our expectations of installation. Some of the things they did is make an extra run to a bedroom that was cold, and fix the ductwork that they found was not efficient. They did these things without racing their installation price. Friendly professional affordable.

ABSOLUTELY EXCEEDED EXPECTATIONS!!! I would like to begin this review with a little background about myself...I am a Journeyman IBEW Union Electrician. I have worked on everything from residential houses to large industrial power plants. I have also been responsible for overseeing numerous commercial and industrial electrical projects. I was told by an employer that they send me to new customers where they really want to make a good first impression because of the caliber of my work and the pride that I take in my work. The reason I gave my some of my background, is because I want everyone reading this to know that this is coming from an experienced tradesman that KNOWS what pride and craftsmanship look like. In the trades, your name and reputation follow you everywhere you go, so when you recommend someone, you better mean it, because that recommendation also follows you. We tend to not recommend very many people, including close family members... With that being said, "I ABSOLUTELY, 100% RECOMMEND CENTRAL HEAT & AIR!!!". I needed to have a new heat pump installed and got 4 different quotes. From the beginning, when I first spoke with Frank Fugunt, I felt like I was talking to a friend because of his honesty and sincerity. When he came to my home to do the quote, he listened to my concerns and did everything in his power to make sure that my family's concerns and needs could be met. I have worked around many people that only care about their profit margins and hurrying up to get to the next "job" by cutting as many corners as they can without getting caught. In the first 5 min, I could tell Frank was not in it for the money, but because he enjoyed helping people. He was very knowledgeable and thorough when he came to do the estimate. He was also the ONLY one of the 4 quotes that mentioned doing a load calculation before giving a price. (That brand new top-of-the-line unit you are about to spend thousands of dollars on isn't going to be efficient if this calculation is not correct.) I cannot say enough good things about Frank. It has been a blessing to have met him. As for the actual install...THOSE MEN DESERVE A RAISE!!! That crew of young men ABSOLUTELY BLEW ME AWAY!! Out of the hundreds, if not thousands of men and women I have worked with, that was one of the best teams of tradesmen I have ever witnessed. It was a pleasure seeing the teamwork, pride, and craftsmanship that those men displayed. They were polite, respectful to me and to each other, diligent, EXCELLENT craftsmen, and you couldn't ask for better attitudes. I told their foreman and called Frank to brag on them. I told them that if they were electricians, I would do everything in my power to recruit them. (It's hard enough to find one guy with all of those qualities, having a team is unheard of.) It was pleasure to see Frank & their Foreman/Journeyman, Larry, share their knowledge and wisdom with the young men. Central Heat & Air is FANTASTIC. All the staff is super friendly. Josh came in a fixed our leaking unit in no time. He took pictures of all his work and included them in our invoice. Got a word of mouth recommendation for this company after one of my bids came in as an outlier. Quoteed me for an R-22 changeout in a 27 year old rental duplex. Bid came in as lowest before adding an extended warranty and service contract and was still within a $100 of lowest even then. Installers did a great job of mating the indoor unit to the plenum using sheet metal instead of the "cheater" accordian that the builder used. My only "complaint," if you can call it that, is that the new (Emerson) thermostat provided has you go into a "secret" menu for adjusting the short cycle lockout timer, but it's still a quality unit from a good manufacturer (ICP/Carrier/Tempstar). Overall would use again.

I called Central when our blower motor went out and they had their service technician, Frank Fugent out to our house the following day. He ordered the parts we needed which came within a few days and installed them in short order. Frank also found the beginning of black mold in which he informed us what was needed to stop it. Frank was great! He answered all our questions and explained things in a step by step way of what he was doing so we could understand. He was patient, kind, courteous, efficient and professional. My heat pump was not cooling, call several companies and they said they could not see me for at least a week. Then I called Central Heat and Air and even though I was not a regular customer they were able to see me the next day. Matt came out an assist my problem quickly and inform me that the unit could not be repaired efficiently and that I needed a new unit. He was very friendly and courteous and explain the situation to where I understood he even sent pictures to my phone. Unfortunately I could not use them to to replace my unit because I have a home warranty and they have their own company. But if I could use them for full service I would definitely do it. I recommend this company to anyone.

This may be one of the best customer service I’ve ever received. Tony was very responsive and helpful with all of my questions. He sent his team led by Larry to install my new system. They were very considerate with my home, my dog, my schedule, and all of my questions. They arrived around 8:45am and were done with everything and my house was cooled off by lunch time!! Ac quit 7/19. Tech came out 20th, on time. Was rainy day so I provided a canopy over heat pump. He checked current to fan & said it was no good, need new one? Checked again and worked but capacitor needed replaced-again! Was suggested to sell us a newer start-up system that would lessen load, cost of $658.00. This is 4th time for capacitor replace. Upon replacing, switch broke and did not have another. He thought taping would suffice. I was just sold on install of new parts, I was not ok using a repaired broken part. He does have a better 2 pole switch if I would prefer. After replacement, system was up & running. Then Tech proceeded to clean heat pump very well, much more than previous ones. Came inside and cleaned condenser, checked for freon and if needed charging. Over all, our Tech did a good service and repair to our system. I would recommend him and Central Heat & Air to friends and family. When it's 92 degrees outside and humid, there's nothing like a good running AC system. Thank you.

These guys are great! I've been a customer for several years, and I've had nothing but exemplary results. Frank in particular is awesome! After years of him suggesting I should get a UV light air purification system installed on the HVAC unit, I finally agreed. Within thirty to forty-five minutes of the install, all the odors from the vents were gone, and the whole house smelled cleaner (even the kids' rooms). I wondered why I hadn't done this years ago. Get one, you won't regret it.

Stephen B came yesterday to do a ck-up on our hvac unit. it took him about 30 minutes and he came in to tell us what all he had done. actually the only thing that had to be done was the removal of a black racer snake from the top of the unit. evidently it crawled up on top while the unit was running and got chopped all to pieces. he went above and beyond what was expected of him and i want to thank him very much!!!! we have used this company sine 2014 an never had any complaints about their service thanks again stephen, jessica lee

Our ac unit recently stopped working. Called central heat and air based on the good reviews. Stephen came when he said he would and he was actually early 👍👍. He immediately knew what to look for and showed me the whole process. He looked for the simple things first and immediately found the problem. We bought a new AC Unit in 2016 this company. after having it almost a year, it seemed as if we needed a little more of a AC Unit to keep the house comfortable. We called Doc and Tony and they was out here within a half a day to take readings and run more test and discovered that we would be better off with a larger unit. My home central air conditioning unit was not cooling. the evaporator coils were a complete block of ice. Ice had formed on the connections to the lines from the compressor. The technician that responded, Travis Ashe, diagnosed the problem source as low coolant in the system. He explained the operation of the system thouroughly to enable me to make an informed decision. I elected to have him de-ice the evaporator coils and re-charge the system, with the knowledge that the problem could reoccur. He completed the work promptly. He also provided an estimate of cost of a replacement unit should I decide to do so. The A/C has been working fine for the month tht has elapsed since the sevice call.

We've had many different HVAC companies out to service our unit over the years. Each was good but never great. We tried CH&A based on a friend's recommendation and I am very glad we did. Everything from the initial phone call to the service was great! Our technician, Frank, was superb! Friendly and professional! Took the time to show me the issues and everything. Prompt response and friendly service. Doc installed our Nest thermostat in the spring of this year and came back when we started having problems with it when the weather got cold. Larry and Phillip, installers with Central Heat and Air, worked smoothly together as a professional team as they replaced our old duct system with a fabulous ultra modern duct work system in just two days. Central came for our scheduled maintenance program. The technicians name was Nate. He was very polite and courteous. He was on time. He was neat and clean. He fix the problem with the unit that we didn’t even know we had. We are very satisfied with the service from Central. We would never go anywhere else. When it was time to replace my central HVAC unit, I contacted 3 companies for quotes; Central Heat & Air offered a great package unit, installation and haul away of the old unit at a competitive price. The installation was scheduled; their installation team arrived punctually and did a professional job on the contracted work. All debris/equipment was removed from site, new connections, drain lines, and new thermostat installed. We were experiencing low air flow to the rear of the house; the installers repaired duct leaks on exposed duct work; some areas were very challenging to access. They also discovered a significant duct breach in an area that a competitor had missed on a previous repair job; Central Heating and Air repaired that leak/breach as well. We were thrilled by their service, attention to detail, timeliness of work, and quality of workmanship. A subsequent job on our finished basement ceiling revealed another substantial duct leak; we called Central Heat & Air for a quote to replace that line of ductwork; their quote was reasonable and were awarded the job. When performing this work, Central Heat & Air were very respectful of our home, layer out protection on the flooring, neatly removed a section of the ceiling to access the run of duct, and replaced it expertly (was a challenging job to run the duct around floor bracing). The work area was cleaned before they left. Again, we were thrilled with the quality of the work performed. I would highly recommend Central Heat & Air; they are a reputable and professional company.

The other day I called central heat and air to come out and look to see what was wrong with our units. Unfortunately, they needed to be replaced as they were already 16 years old. I highly recommend this company! Everyone who I interacted with, the initial Technician (Matt) and the team who installed (Matt and TJ), were all great! Everyone was extremely nice and answered any questions I had! They knew what they were doing and were very thorough.

Tech was friendly and knowledgeable. Fixed a few small issues as he saw them. If I had to voice a complaint it would be that the amount charge for today's visit was not discussed ahead of time. The estimate he gave me for additional work that needed to be done was fair compared to industry standards. He gave me several options as to financing or paying up front for additional repairs. Definitely will use them again for the repairs.
